This year our grade 5 class will be sending one of our 3 travel buddies to Norway to visit the class of Mr.

This year our grade 5 class will be sending one of our 3 travel buddies to another school anywhere in the world. Our travel buddy is a little stuffed moose called TESS (Topsail Elementary School) and, she is very anxious to go on a trip to meet some new friends. We will include info about our country, province, community, school and about ourselves. We'll include some pictures and some surprises too! So, if you know of a class that would like to have a visit from our "Travel Buddy", just get your teacher to write to our teacher at mgorner@topsail.k12.nf.ca and we'll be very happy to write back to you.

We also have a classroom pet. She's a Teddy Bear Hamster. Her name is Patches. Here she is with our Travel Buddy, Tess.

Here we are in our Music class. We love to play our recorders music and sing in class. Many of us are in the school choir. Recently we sang at our Remembrance Day Assembly. Some of us are also in the school band which is just starting up.	Playing games in the Gym is one of our favourite things to do at school. We have Intra-Mural games in soccer, volleyball and other sports at lunchtime as well as our regular classes.

We work hard in class. Here we are busily writing "Personal Narratives'. These are stories about personal experiences. Soon you'll be able to read some of them online!	Here we are in the computer lab. We will be researching the Beothuk Indians next week on the Internet. And, of course, we are hoping to soon have e-pals to whom we can write.

Last year we had some travel buddy visitors. They were Brumle Bear from our e-pals in Mr. Anders Kallset 's Class in Elvran Skole in Norway and Gabbi the Penguin from Mme.Cloutier's Class in Marie-Anne-Gaboury School in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

If you'd like to have a visit from one of our buddies or if you'd like to send one to us... just write and ask. We love to make new friends!
