Table Mountain

Table Mountain

The name Table Mountain comes from the mountain itself because of the flat surface at the top. The mountain is an hours walk by foot. Also, its hill is very steep.Table mountain is located 11km from the town of Channel-Port aux Basques. The road to the mountain top is open for anyone to use. During the summer of 1995, Come Home Year, there was an event for tours of Table Mountain. Many people like to hunt wildlife and to explore the beautiful landscape. On a clear day you can see a town in Nova Scoita called St.Paul's Island. It is a nice family event to go see Table Mountain.

A number of years ago a plane crashed due to really heavy fog.Since that accident they have put a light on Table Mountain to alert all planes or helicopters flying in the night. Some people say that you can see parts of the plane that broke off while the plane crashed. But you cannot see the pieces of the plane from the road because the plane parts are behind two cliffs on the mountain. We hope may get a chance to see this lovely place called Table Moutain!
