Tablelands Boat Tour presents:

                        The History

The United Nations has proclaimed Gros Morne National Park a World Heritage Site  because it is an outstanding example of a major stage in the earth's evolution.

The barren and beautiful Tablelands surrounding Trout River Pond at first mystified scientists and later provided solid evidence for the Earth-shaking theory of drifting continents. This slice of ancient ocean was pushed into place when Europe and North America collided 450 million years ago.

Trout River Pond is a geological showpiece . Here you can journey deep into the earth without leaving the comfort of a modern vessel. The scenes of discovery heightens as you glide through the Narrows into the upper pond, and the beauty of this land-locked fjord  surround you. Wildlife such as bears, moose and caribou can be seen.

                      The vessel

The Lady Catherine is a modern, wheel chair accessible, 40-passenger motor craft, with on-board washroom. She is safety-inspected, full equipped including two-way radio contact capability. Licensed experienced operators conduct the tour and provide numerous photographic opportunities.
