In this lesson you will learn

  • The differences that exist between the various Invertebrate Phyla will be discussed. An explanation for the success of the Arthropods will also be offered.

After studying this section you will be expected to know an understand the following:

  • Kingdom Characteristics: An examination of the general features of the 6 Kingdoms will be conducted.. Identification of members of the kingdoms will be completed as well.
  • Plant and Animal Phyla: The characteristics that distinguish the Plant and Animal Phyla will be described.
  • Plant Groups: The differences that exists between the major groups of plants will be conducted. An explanation as to why the Angiosperms are the most diverse group of plants will also be conducted.
  • Invertebrates: The differences that exist between the various Invertebrate Phyla will be discussed. An explanation for the success of the Arthropods will also be offered.
  • Vertebrate Phyla: The differences that exist between the various Vertebrate Phyla will be discussed.
  • Life Cycles: The Life Cycle of a representative member from each kingdom will be discussed.

Prerequisites

To be successful in this lesson, it would be helpful to know the following:
