Project Registration 2004

Important Notice: If you are registering on or after Friday, January 30th, please note. After you register, you must send a blank email to projectgroundhog-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. Any messages which you have missed, may be picked up by registering on Yahoo (http://groups.yahoo.com/) You will need to sign up as a new user if you are not already a YahooGroups member. Once you register, simply add the group - "projectgroundhog" to your list of groups. All messages which are sent out during the project will be stored in this area for all members to review.

Our K-1 teams have filled up as of this morning. However, if you are a K-1 teacher, you may register with a 2-3 group. There is no difference to the way the project is run, simply a difference in that your team members will all be a little older!

This is our tenth year with Project Groundhog. We pride ourselves on being one of the oldest, if not the oldest continuing collaborative online projects on the net. We operate completely through our volunteers, making us truly a grassroots project. This year, the project leaders Bill and Wendy are really too busy to coordinate the project. However, we want to provide the opportunity, so the site is open and we hope there are enough experienced teachers to make this a great year.

Before you continue, please stop and evaluate if you are willing to commit to the next 8 weeks. Some weeks will involve 3-5 hours of work and others maybe only a half hour. But if you register, we truly expect that you will follow through and participate, in fact your team is counting on you. If you are not sure, read through the "About" section and review the web site.

This year will be a year where each team must work together to support one another through the project. I am simply too busy this year to be of much assistance to you individually. However, collectively we can move mountains!!

The two big problems we have with registration involves errors is in email addresses. If your email address is typed incorrectly you will not hear back from us, simple as that. If you are not sure what your email address is, please find out before continuing. The second problem is when a teacher wants to switch teams, and I'm sorry, I just do not have time to help you, so make sure you are on the right grade level and people that you would like to work with before registering. Otherise, when you register, simply sign up for the first team on the list for your grade level.

Finally - please note that after you register, I have to approve the registration before it shows up on the site. Check back in 24 hours before you panic! :-)

If you are certain about your committment to this project and are ready to register, please get started click here.

Have a great year! Bill Jameson
